Noble Dead Raffle—REMINDER, and…
UPDATE: Barb and J.C. have just completed revisions on S3B2: The Dog in the Dark.
The manuscript is now back in the hands of their editor. Next stop, the copyedits, likely in another month or so. Excerpts will not appear at NobleDead.org until likely September, as with previous editions of the saga, so don’t get too anxious just yet.
This is the last day for entries in the current raffle for a signed hardbound copy of S3B1: Between Their worlds. There’s about ten hours left to the deadline tonight at Midnight, PST, so get your entry in if you haven’t already. [Open only to readers in the USA].
See the original raffle notice for full instructions on how to enter. We’ll announce the winner by Monday along with any details for the next raffle down the way.
Book Cover Gallery Fixed… Finally!
Revisions on S3B2: The Dog in the Dark are nearly complete, so JC took some time to find some time for other delayed work. The gallery function for book covers at NobleDead.org has finally been fixed and updated. If you had trouble with the “Int’l Gallery” or even book cover enlargement on the “Books” page, hopefully you won’t anymore. The new ajax script also updates book “Excerpts” access as well. Likely you won’t notice any difference if you’ve peeked at online excerpts before.
And don’t forget about the ongoing “Noble Dead Raffle” for a signed copy of S3B1: Between Their Worlds, which ends this coming Friday, Midnight, PST.
Q&A: Raise Thy Nose (Literature / Fantasy)
It’s actually rare that we get crossover questions related to our old days in college and university. Considering we’re both old English majors, both who taught for a while, it’s possible we get such questions a bit more than some writers. We actually don’t think about it much, but…

But here we are again, finally. Time for another chance to have a book shipped straight to your door from our publisher, this time for another signed hardback copy of S3B1: Between Their Worlds…

Noble Dead Raffle—UPDATE
We were unable to acquire confirmation of shipping information (as required) for the last selected winner. All attempts to contact this individual have failed. A new winner has been selected and notified. Stay tuned for an announcement of the winner to follow.
We did not anticipate this problem, and perhaps we should have. Some amendments to our raffle process will be forthcoming in the opening of the next raffle on Friday. In the meantime…
Make certain when you enter our raffles that…
- you use an email account checked at least once every 24 hours, and
- the account can receive HTML email.

HTML/RTF format is the standard in business email today to which we adhere, and that will not be changed. If you are filtering out emails based on rich-text or HTML content, consider white-listing the “nobledead.org” domain in your email application/service.

Q&A: Playing Favorites [Character and Author]
Everyone who falls in love with a book or series has favorite characters. Some also have their favorite moments in the story, for they know the characters, like real people, only come alive when the story is in motion. The best characters are never stuck in time, always the same everywhere and everywhen.
It’s no different for the caring authors, though sometimes we have different reasons as “story-makers/tellers” for what sticks with us. But it’s often based in the dynamic rather than static, in the telling of what we want to share with the careful readers.

We will do six raffles, one every two weeks. We’re now in a heavy cycle of writing, which will only get even busier over this month, so we need to avoid too many other complications. The next raffle (with a different book yet to be announced) will begin Friday, March 9, and run to the following Friday at Midnight, PST. But for now...
