The Writer’s Corner: Typeset Proof Pages
There are three basic phases that a book goes through (after the initial draft) when writers work with a professional publisher. J.C. and I have chatted with you before about some of these:
- revision after receiving an editor’s notes,
- review of copy-edited manuscript, and
- proofreading the typeset pages (galleys).
Each phase has its own difficulties and challenges. At present, I am in phase 3 for MW2: Witches in Red. The most painful difficulty for any writer in this phase is a hard-set rule laid down by the publisher…
Site Update: Now on Google Play…
This update has been long (long) overdue. All works by Barb and/or J.C. in the “Books” section at NobleDead.org now have links to editions available through Play.Google.com. This includes pre-order of completed but pending releases such as MW2: Witches in Red, the next volume in Barb’s Mist-Torn Witches series.
NOTE: Unfortunately, and due to inequities in Google’s contract with private content providers, works in T·N·D·S: Tales from the world of the Noble Dead Saga are not available through Google Play. We monitor the status of affected contract clauses on a semi-regular bases; if and when such improve to match those of our other contracted vendors, “tales” will then be released through Google Play.
NOW Available: A Wind in the Night
Hurrah! Today is the “official” release date for the latest volume in the Noble Dead Saga. All links to major online vendors have been updated in the Books section at NobleDead.org, if you need a quick way to find…
Previews are available by looking for the ebook edition at your preferred vendor, even if print books are more to your liking.
While we are always cheerful on “release days,” Barb is especially excited about getting this one into the hands of our readers. It is quite a story.
